Thunderwolf - Wolf Guard Battle Leader

Here is the following conversion made from combining a Citadell Resin Wolf Lord Logan Grimnar and a Citadell Resin Canis Wolfborn. taken out of their package and after a night of asking myself if I really  was crazy to wanna make such a costly conversion. Well I made it happen ! Have a quick look on GW for pricing in your area and you will understand.
Starting to clean up the default resin of Canis Wolfborn from its casting package I wanted to howl in defeat at the poor casting that I got. Canis, contrary to the small resin package where you can check back and take a look to see if the model is ok, is sold in a sealed box and with no way to know if the casting is good or not. After 45mn of drive to come back from the GW store I dint really want to losses 1h30mn to go back and forth plus pay the fuel for travel. The problem was not really the wolf in itself except the belly part who would need some green stuff to fix if place if set in a different position... other stuff I could fix with dried glue or simply dint stress out about it... No, the problem was mainly the look of Canis itself for the belt area, the shoulder, the cloak covering the back and the legs were really badly cast up and bubble driven. At least for the price that you pay for and the hype that you get when you take a look at him fully painted. It simply bug me to death... For you see the first look that you take when looking at Canis Wolfborn your eyes simply start with the head of the character and drive itself to the details of his frame, its weapons and draw to a close look at the wolf itself. Well the wolf lover in me and the wanna paint this one really good dint fit so well with this one.
After a night of cleaning residue on Canis I decided to go for it and cut it out of its misery... else I would simply convert its frame and find ways to use its head for a Space Wolf built up.

Logan Grimnar on Thunderwolf

- Three carving cut were made to take out the grenade and side pouch out with a knife...
- A cut was then made with a GW saw in a V shape at the legs...
- A V shape cut was then made on Login Grimnar at the legs before the belt with a knife...
- Tested the pose, glue it up in place and done... A badass looking attack pose on a thunderwolf. Base Rocks and finishing pose to be made when finish...

What will be left will be to gather green stuff and remake the cloak from the Wolf back to the Character lower back and has demonstrated here...  cover it with the Logan Grimnar wolf cloak. Other than that Logan come already with a Storm Bolter arm and a simple magnetized switch of an arm shield from the Wolf Guard set should do the trick when needed... In this way this conversion can be use for a Wolf Guard Battle Leader or a regular Thunderwolf Rider... or... high cost pts battles to low cost pts one's.

Logan Grimnar on Thunderwolf

Down to the ideal low point cost Battle... The idea here for this conversion was to be able to use it every time I wanted in low point battles instead of redoing a new Thunderwolf. This is done by giving me the choice to attach a shield arm and replace it with a magnetized Storm Bolter arm when wanted....
So after going over and over the codex I came up with the following low cost profile transformation. This give a range assault 2, 24" attack, melee rending, 2+ armor save and the possibility to combine him to lead to battle with 7 Fenrisian Wolf for a +56 pts...Total 194pts for the charging wolf terror of easy prey infantry units all under the 200 pts range.
