The foe that have yet to be slain, lest the proud and savage sons of Chogoris ever forget their sworn duty to hunt down the enemies of the Emperor and of their mighty primarch, the honored First, Lord Jaghatai Khan. Kor'sarro Khan, fifty-first Master of the Hunt and Captain of the 3rd Company of the White Scars is on the hunt for the foul head of the Deamon Prince Kernax Voldorius.
Written by 'Andy Hoare' the Novel 'Hunt For Voldorius' depict the story of the White Scars on the hunt while making soul end to the foul chaos worshippers. On their devotion ways to fill their duties for the almighty God-Emperor the White Scars are to ever battle with the Raven Guard against the Alpha Legion on the world of Quintus. Taken over by The Ninth Eye Warship of Lord Voldorius the brief revolt on Quintus is put to a end in brief moment before the arrival of the White Scars.
The book give one of the best introduction story written in a long time. Going right into the hunt drive of the White Scars Thunderhawk making planet fall over the making of a chaos taken promethium plant refinery on Cernis IV. We are indulge in a story that is, we belief, going to give us a hell of a time and plenty of good sport combat scene. In that the book give... to a decadent degree however.
The Novel while giving a good introduction fumble over and over in lost description and poor combat scene the further the book is read. Yes the author give knowledge of the surrounding but in the long run you will merely fell asleep to most of them . The background story is good but the reader is found wanting for more in some place and almost wanted to see an unknown new character make its approach or own saga story. In other words it would have been a better delight if the book would have at least spent more time giving the descriptions of the scenes by the so many side characters on the battlefield instead of being given by the low numbers of main characters present. Added to that a final scene where the players don't really grant the warfare feelings for the story and a mean fact that the ending is rightly known before you even get there... all make for a poorly book in the end.
If you have the chance to get your hands on this book simply take it as a short story and read the eighty three first pages before putting it down. Have a good look at the cover art, background description put behind and then move-on to something else. You would end-up seeing the best of it. I give 'Hunt for Voldorius' a five out of ten for the White Scars hunt intro, the Alpha Legion Nullus & Voldorius characters and the Raven Guard to the point 'don't need to tell you sap' attitude.
'Little did Kor'sarro or Shrike know that the names of Nullus and Voldorius would one day return to haunt the nightmares of men. But that is another tale, yet to be told...'
'Mmm... don't bother Andy your done on this one better luck on something else...'
